The Kedarnath & Badrinath Bike Tour is a spiritual journey combined with the thrill of Himalayan riding. Covering two of the most sacred shrines of the Char Dham — Kedarnath (the seat of Lord Shiva) and Badrinath (the abode of Lord Vishnu) — this ride takes you through winding mountain roads, coniferous forests, roaring rivers, and snow-clad Himalayan peaks. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Rishikesh/Haridwar

Arrive in Rishikesh or Haridwar, the gateway to the Char Dham Yatra. After hotel check-in, you will be briefed about the ride, safety guidelines, and itinerary. In the evening, visit Triveni Ghat to witness the soulful Ganga Aarti on the banks of the holy river. Overnight stay in Rishikesh/Haridwar.

Day 2: Rishikesh – Guptkashi (Approx. 220 km / 8–9 hrs)

Start your ride after breakfast. The route follows the River Ganga up to Devprayag, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet to form the Ganga. Continue via Srinagar and Rudraprayag before reaching Guptkashi, an important pilgrimage town known for the Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnareshwar Temple. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Day 3: Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath (16 km trek)

Morning ride from Guptkashi to Gaurikund, the trek base for Kedarnath. From here, begin the 16 km trek to Kedarnath, walking along the Mandakini River with panoramic views of snow-clad peaks. The trail passes Rambara and other halting points before finally reaching the sacred town of Kedarnath (3,583 m). In the evening, attend the divine Shri Kedarnath Ji Aarti at the temple. Overnight stay at Kedarnath (guesthouse/dharamshala).

Day 4: Kedarnath – Gaurikund – Guptkashi

Wake up early for darshan of Kedarnath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. After breakfast, trek back down to Gaurikund and ride back to Guptkashi. Evening free for rest after the trek. Overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 5: Guptkashi – Badrinath (Approx. 190 km / 8–9 hrs)

Today’s ride takes you through some of the most scenic Himalayan roads. Cross Chopta (known as the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand”), Joshimath, and Govindghat before reaching Badrinath, situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River. In the evening, attend the Badrinath Temple Aarti, a mesmerizing spiritual experience. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 6: Badrinath – Mana Village – Rudraprayag (Approx. 160 km / 7–8 hrs)

In the morning, visit Badrinath Temple for darshan. After that, explore Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Tibet border. See attractions like Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the origin of the Saraswati River. After sightseeing, ride back towards Rudraprayag, where the Alaknanda meets the Mandakini River. Overnight stay in Rudraprayag.

Day 7: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh/Haridwar (Approx. 160 km / 6–7 hrs)

On the final day, ride back through the Himalayan foothills, retracing the route via Srinagar and Devprayag. Reach Rishikesh/Haridwar by evening, where the tour concludes with cherished memories of riding through the land of gods.

Yes, bikes are only allowed till Gaurikund. From there, it’s a 16 km trek (pony, palanquin, or helicopter options also available).

Do I need special permits?

Yes, Inner Line Permits are mandatory. The tour operator arranges them.

What is the best time to visit?

The best months are May–June and September–October. July–August is avoided due to monsoon.

Do I need to carry camping gear?

No, accommodation and meals are arranged by the operator. You only need your personal riding gear and essentials.
