Overview
The Rishikesh to Chopta Bike Trip is the perfect short getaway for riders who want a real taste of the Garhwal Himalayas without committing to a week-long expedition. Chopta, often called the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand,” sits at the edge of a dense oak and rhododendron forest and serves as the base for Tungnath — the highest Shiva temple in the world — and the Chandrashila summit, which opens up one of the most rewarding Himalayan viewpoints reachable on a short weekend ride.

Detailed Itinerary
Bike handover and safety briefing at Rishikesh early in the morning. Ride out along the Ganga to Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet to form the Ganga, then continue via Srinagar and Rudraprayag, tracking the Alaknanda upstream. From Rudraprayag, climb steadily through Ukhimath towards Chopta, with the road narrowing into pine and rhododendron forest as you gain altitude. Check into your stay at Chopta by evening. Overnight stay in Chopta.
An early start for the trek from Chopta to Tungnath (3,680 m), the highest Shiva temple in the world, set among some of the most striking alpine scenery in the Garhwal Himalayas. From Tungnath, continue the climb to Chandrashila summit (4,000 m) for uninterrupted views of the Himalayan range, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, and Chaukhamba peaks. Descend back to Chopta by afternoon, with the rest of the day free to relax by the campfire. Overnight stay in Chopta.
After breakfast, ride back down through Ukhimath, Rudraprayag, Srinagar, and Devprayag towards Rishikesh, retracing the river valley route. Trip concludes on arrival in Rishikesh by evening.
